It looks like the creative team that helped get Spider-Man: Miles Morales out the door will now be turning their attention to Insomniac's other project, Marvel's Wolverine. Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter are set to reprise their roles as Peter and Miles, respectively. The duo have decades of experience between them, having worked on everything from the Resistance series through to Ratchet & Clank and Sunset Overdrive. Bryan Intihar will be returning as creative director and Ryan Smith is back as game director. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is being developed by the award-winning team at Insomniac responsible for 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man.

Insomniac says that it's excited to be 'pushing the capabilities of the console' in an adventure that will 'continue the journey of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.' Insomniac has now shifted its focus to the PS5, following the release of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart as a platform exclusive, as it attempts to push the boundaries of third-person action-adventure games. The new Spider-Man 2 game is a PS5 exclusive. With that said, you can probably expect the first look at Marvel's Spider-Man 2 probably in May or June and a release around September or October, but that's pure speculation.No, Marvel's Spider-Man won't be releasing on the PS4. Sony has been keeping its first-party games close to the chest for the last few years now and it has been working. While there's a chance we get something, you probably shouldn't hold your breath.

Warner Brothers would probably be pretty angry if it got upstaged by Spider-Man. It does not seem likely that two massive superhero games would be shown at the event unless this was some big industry-wide affair like E3, particularly with regards to two games from rival companies. The even bigger giveaway is the fact that an extended look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be shown at the PlayStation State of Play. If there was a new look at Marvel's Spider-Man 2, PlayStation probably would've explicitly said so or at least hinted that there'd be a big first-party game there. For starters, Sony teased what to expect from the event and it includes looks at third-party games and PSVR 2 titles.

Some fans were hoping that the rumored PlayStation State of Play would give us our first real look and now that the State of Play has been announced for later this week, some are still holding out hope.
